Abstract Based on the Bayesian theorem, an empirical Baye method is discussed. A programming chart for mass spectrum fitting is suggested. Using this method to extract the spectrum, we observe the puzzled Roper resonance state on a 163 x 28 lattice with overlap fermions at very light quark region.
