Abstract The photoluminescence of some platinum (II) complexes of aromatic α-diimines and pyridine-2-thiolates is enhanced upon incorporation into the polymer matrices polymethmethylacrylate (PMMA), polycarbonate, and polystyrene. Some applications of the platinum (II)-PMMA films as luminscent sensors reported. When platinum (II)-PMMA films are in ethanol solutions with different chloroform concentration, there is a systematic decrease of emission intensity with increasing chloroform concentration and the variation follows a Stern-volmer relationship.
