Abstract We have obtained the half - life of 2vββ decay in 48Ca by using the two-nucleon mechanism and our nuclear shell model space wave function. Our result shows that it is consistent with experimental data and our wave function works well both in ovββ decay and in 2vββ decay of 48Ca.
