HU Enke, GUAN Tongren, YU Bo, TANG Mengxi, CHEN Shusen, ZHENG Qingzhang, P.F. Michelson*, B.E. Moskowitz*, M.S. McAshan*, W.M. Fairbank*, M. Bassan*
Chin. Phys. Lett. 1986, 3 (12): 529-532 .
Abstract   PDF(pc) (43KB) ( 511 )
The results of coincidence experiment which was carried out in the whole month of April, 1985 by two gravitational wave detectors in stanford and in Guangzhou are presented. It is found that up to sensitivity of h 10-16 the number of coincident events did not excess the number expected statistically.

PHOTOLUMINESCENCE OF GaAs/AlAs QUANTUM WELLS
ZHUANG Weihua, TENG Da, XU Zhongying, Xu Jizong, CHEN Zonggui
Chin. Phys. Lett. 1986, 3 (12): 533-536 .
Abstract   PDF(pc) (49KB) ( 452 )
An unusual emission - I line has been observed in the photoluminescence spectra of MBE GaAs/AlAs MQW at 4.2K. Its half width is 6.5-9meV with peak energy Located between the near band transition and the free electrons to carbon acceptors transition in bulk GaAs. The peak energy increases roughly linearly with the logarithm of the excitation power. The emission intensity decreases with the increase of temperature and disappears at about 15K.

A DISCUSSION OF TWO-NEUTRION DOUBLE BETA DECAY IN 48 Ca
WU Huifang
Chin. Phys. Lett. 1986, 3 (12): 537-540 .
Abstract   PDF(pc) (42KB) ( 452 )
We have obtained the half - life of 2vββ decay in 48Ca by using the two-nucleon mechanism and our nuclear shell model space wave function. Our result shows that it is consistent with experimental data and our wave function works well both in ovββ decay and in 2vββ decay of 48Ca.
LASER PERFORMANCE OF LARGE NEODYMIUM ALUMINUM BORATE ( NdAl3 ( BO3 )4) CRYSTALS
LUO Zundu, JIANG Aidong, HUANG Yichuan, QIU Minwang
Chin. Phys. Lett. 1986, 3 (12): 541-544 .
Abstract   PDF(pc) (45KB) ( 758 )
Neodymium Aluminum Borate crystals with dimensions up to 20 x 20 x 45mm3 have been grown successfully. Laser rod of Ф3.2m x 23.7mn can be fabricated from the crystal. The relationship between the luminescence concentration quenching effect and the structure characteristics of the crystals have been studied. The pulsed laser performance of this crystal at an energy output of 422mJ, is reported.
AN ANGLE RESOLVED PHOTOEMISSION STUDY OF InP (ī ī ī)CLEAN SURFACE
HOU Xiaoyuan, DONG Guosheng, DING Xunmin, WANG Xun
Chin. Phys. Lett. 1986, 3 (12): 545-548 .
Abstract   PDF(pc) (51KB) ( 515 )
The energy dispersive relation of surface dangling bond state on InP (ī ī ī) clear, surface has been measured bg the angle resolved photo-mission. The theoretical calculation based on a slab model and extended Hückel theory agreed well with the experimental result if a surface relaxed atomic structure model for InP (ī ī ī) (1x1) is postulated.

THE STRUCTURAL CHANGE OF Mo/GaAs INTERFACE AFTER ANNEALING
ZHANG Shuyuan, WU Ziqin
Chin. Phys. Lett. 1986, 3 (12): 549-552 .
Abstract   PDF(pc) (121KB) ( 465 )
The interface contact of Mo/GaAs has been investigated by THREM and electron diffraction. It was found that a Mo3Ga structure was produced at the interfacial region after 500°C annealing due to the solid reaction.
ANHARMONIC EFFECT ON ORIENTATIONAL ORDERING IN ADSORBED INCOMMENSURATE MONOLAYERS
FENG Kean, WU Naijuan, ZHAO Lihua*
Chin. Phys. Lett. 1986, 3 (12): 553-556 .
Abstract   PDF(pc) (47KB) ( 451 )
The orientational ordering in adsorbed incommensurate monolayers is discussed in an anharmonic approach. A nonlinear relationship is predicted between the orientation of the monolayer relative to the substrate and the monolayer lattice parameter. Calculated values of the rninimum energy crientation angle for Ar on graphite are in good agreement with the experimental reported measurements.
UNUSUAL INTERFACE EFFECT ON THE ENERGY OF NbCe SYSTEM
HAN Rushan, ZHANG Xifeng
Chin. Phys. Lett. 1986, 3 (12): 557-560 .
Abstract   PDF(pc) (49KB) ( 469 )
Using an all-atom-all-electron self-consistent LMTO band calculation and density functional theory method, we have studied the total energy of different NbCe systems. It appears that there is an unusual interface effect on the energy, which predicts the possibility of artificial preparation for some NbCe superlattice systems.
ELECTRONIC STRUCTURES AND THE PROPERTIES OF HYDROGEN IN SILICON
CUI Shufan, MAI Zhenhong
Chin. Phys. Lett. 1986, 3 (12): 561-564 .
Abstract   PDF(pc) (48KB) ( 699 )
The electronic structures of hydrogen in silicon are treated theoretically in a Si-H bond unit representation using the approximation of solid state matrix elements. it -is found that some unusual properties in c-Si are caused by the changes of the electronic state of hydrogen in silicon when Si-H bonds dissolve at certain temperature.
A FRACTIONAL INTEGRAL REPRESENTATION FOR INTERBAND DIELECTRIC FUNCTION OF CRITICAL POINT ELECTRONS IN VARIOUS DIMENSIONAL CRYSTALS
HE Xingfei, MO Dang
Chin. Phys. Lett. 1986, 3 (12): 565-568 .
Abstract   PDF(pc) (50KB) ( 466 )
The dielectric function for direct interband transitions of critical point electrons in an n-dimensional crystal has been derived as the n/2-th iterated integra1s of the dielectric function of a harmonic oscillator. A generalized expression for the derivatives of interband dielectric function has also been presented by fractional integration. The results present an explicit physical picture and provide a new approach to the investigations of optical properties of low dimensional and anisotropic crystals.
X-RAY MEASUREMENT OF THE GRAIN SIZES OF WSi2 FORMED IN COSPUTTERED W-Si FILMS
JIANG Xiaoming, HUANG Yonglan, WU Ziqin, LI Bingzong
Chin. Phys. Lett. 1986, 3 (12): 569-572 .
Abstract   PDF(pc) (47KB) ( 485 )
The broadening of X-ray diffraction peaks has been used successfully to measure the grain sizes of WSi2 in cosputtered W-Si films after annealing. The grain size of WSi2 increases with annealing temperature and reaches 115nm after annealing at 1000°C. The grain sizes are quite similar to that obtained by transmission electron microscope in electron beam coevaporated film and low pressure chemical vapor deposited film.
