Abstract The transient pressure in a liquid-pool during explosive boiling of acetone is measured by a micro-pressure-measuring system. The Fast Fourier transform and continuous wavelet transform methods are applied to investigate the frequency characteristics. The results show that the dominant frequency of the explosive boiling is 0--2MHz, and the bubble cluster formed by numerous tiny bubbles departs twice. Analysis and discussions are also conducted to explain the bubble evolution during the explosive boiling.
