Abstract A highly efficient and stable ring-cavity regenerative amplifier for chirped-pulse amplification at a 1kHz repetition rate, with slope efficiency up to 40% and output pulse-to-pulse energy-jitter less than 1.25%, is demonstrated. The pulse energy as high as 2.4mJ is obtained.
