Abstract Within the Kobayashi--Maskawa mechanism of electroweak interaction and using the recent measured mass of the top quark, we estimate the neutron electric dipole moment (NEDM) via the diquark electroweak interaction. The resulting moment is about 10-30 ecm. The actual upper bound on the NEDM is 6.3× 10-26 ecm and it can reach the value 5×10-28 ecm predicted by experiments in recent years.
