Abstract The double-well potential systems and a hybrid optical bistability device with liquid crystal have a relation to quartic maps with two equally high peaks. The star products for all doubly superstable kneading sequences in the kneading plane are presented, the generalized Feigenbaum's metric universalities such as scaling factors {αc, α,D, αE} and convergent rates {δaηα,η} are obtained.
