Abstract We first proved that the modified potential of atomic hydrogen in the converging laser field of circular polarization is an exact uniform field in the range of r ≤ R0(∝ I1/2ω-2), but Coulomb potential in the range of r > R0. Then the energy levels shallow and split, the wavefunction undergoes distortion.
