Abstract A one-dimensional system with only off-diagonal disorder in which the absolute values of all the off-diagonal matrix elements are equal to a constant is studied with the renormalization group decimation method. It proves that all the eigenstates in the system are extended, regardless of the probability of the off-diagonal matrix elements being positive(or negative).
