Abstract The NMR investigation on the stable T2 phase of Al-Cu-Li alloys as an interesting icosahedral phase is reported . ⁷Li NMR spectra and spin-lattice relaxation time at a magnetic field of 2.114T at several temperatures for samples of T2 phase and, for comparison, also of R phase and another typical A1-Li alloy were observed. The Li ions are situated firmly in the lattice sires with higher local symmetry in T2 and R phases.
