Abstract The mechanism of optogalvanic effect (OGE) in CO2-N2 discharge was experimentally investigated. The results show that laser irradiation causes interchange, of energies between molecules CO2 and N2 in electronic excited states, and OGE is induced by step-ionization.

Abstract
