Abstract Under both low- and high-frequency signals, the phenomenon of vibrational resonance in two coupled overdamped anharmonic oscillators with time delay feedback is investigated. By separating the slow and fast motions, the approximate solution of the response amplitude of the coupled oscillators is obtained, and the analytical results are in good agreement with the numerical ones. In the delay-free systems, the traditional vibrational resonance is presented, and in the delayed systems, the delay-induced periodic pattern of the vibrational resonance profile with respect to the delay parameter is revealed.
