We report on the attainment of quantum degeneracy of 40K by means of efficient thermal collisions with the evaporatively cooled 87Rb atoms. In a quadrupole-Ioffe configuration trap, potassium atoms are cooled to 0.5 times the Fermi temperature. We obtain up to 7.59i×105 degenerate fermions 40K.
