Abstract Recently we have suggested that the state of a single particle should be jointly defined by two wave functions. In this letter we use this suggestion to discuss the motion of a single particle in an infinitely deep square potential well; the results obiained in the classical limit correctly describe the motion of the single particle with clarity.
