Biased Brownian Motion Driven by Fluctuating Temperature
-
Abstract
Biased Brownian motion in a periodic potential with fluctuating temperature of thermal bath is studied. The general expression of stationary probability current is obtained. The necessary condition for biased Brownian motion is the combination of fluctuating temperature and a periodic ratchet potential.
