Generation of Superpositions of Squeezed Coherent States
-
Abstract
A scheme to prepare superpositions of squeezed coherent states is presented. It involves an appropriately prepared atom crossing a high-Q cavity initially filled with a squeezed coherent field. After the nonresonant interaction with the cavity field the detection of the atomic state leaves the cavity field in a superposition of two squeezed coherent states.
