Interpretation of the Giant Magnetoresistance Oscillation with the Thickness of Ferromagnetic Layer in Magnetic Multilayers
-
Abstract
In virtue of Mott mechanism, we calculate the giant magnetoresistance(GMR) in Fe/Cr superlattices. Our results show that the GMR oscillations with the thickness of the ferromagnetic layer is due to the finite size effect of magnetic itinerant holes. The calculation is consistent with the experimental observation.
