Amplification of the Magnetic Fields in Astrophysical Jets- Screw Dynamo of a Nonneutral Beam-Plasma System
-
Abstract
When the relativistic electrons produced by in situ acceleration propagate through the plasma of jets, they will drive the fluid components to rotate around the cylindinal axis. The shear of rotation veiocity will amplify the magnetic fields through kinematic screw dynamo mechanism.
