A NEW METHOD TO MEASURE THE ADSORBATE COVERAGE: TIME-DEVELOPED ION SCATTERING SPECTROSCOPY (TDISS)
-
Abstract
TDISS has been applied in investigating the change an coverage with time of exposure of several gases adsorbed on Rh(111) at room temperature. When the energy of the incident He+ ions is of 100eV range, the disturbance of incoming ions is depressed to a negligible level. Satisfactory adsorption isotherms can be easily measured for all gases other than hydrogen.
