Collapses and Revivals of Interferencing Intensity in Two Bose-Einstein Condensates with Josephson-Like Coupling

Abstract
An approximate analytic solution is present for a system of two Bose-Einstein condensates (BECs) with a Josephson-like coupling. By the use of this approximate solution, it is shown that the existence of quantum collapses and revivals (QCRs) in the interferencing intensity of two BECs. It is found that QCRs are seriously affected not only by interatomic collisions and the atomic tunneling between two BECs but also by initial states of the two BECs, so that one can manipulate QCRs through changing scattering lengths of atoms, atomic tunneling and initial states of BECs.
