Transport Properties of Ferromagnet/Ferromagnetic-Insulator/Ferromagnet Junctions Attached by a Paramagnetic Metal on Two Sides

Abstract
The electronic-transport properties of ferromagnet/ferromagnetic-insulator/ferromagnet junctions attached on two sides by a paramagnetic metal are analyzed. The tunnel conductance and magnetoresistance are oscillatory functions of the ferromagnet thickness. The exchange coupling between ferromagnets depends on both the magnetic polarization of the conduction electrons and the exchange splitting in all the magnetic layers.
