CALCULATION OF ENERGY STRAGGLING FOR FAST PROTONS

The energy and Z₂ dependences of energy straggling for fast proton beams in some of the elements have been calculated by using an effective IPM potential for light ion-atom system with Bonderup and Hvelplund’s formulation. The results are compared with the past and recent experiments and show in good agreement with them.
