CALCULATION OF ENERGY STRAGGLING FOR FAST PROTONS

Abstract
The energy and Z2 dependences of energy straggling for fast proton beams in some of the elements have been calculated by using an effective IPM potential for light ion-atom system with Bonderup and Hvelplund’s formulation. The results are compared with the past and recent experiments and show in good agreement with them.
