The α Transfer Effect on Sub-barrier Fusion of Heavy Ions

The α transfer effect on sub-barrier fusion is calculated for ¹⁶O+¹⁴⁸Sm system by using the linear combination of nuclear orbits theory. The coupling between elastic scattering channel and α transfer reaction channel causes the enhancement of the fusion cross section at sub-barrier energies.
