Interference of Independent Inhomogeneous Bose Condensates via Continuous Measurement
-
Abstract
Continuous measurement theory is generalized to inhomogeneous case via the Wigner function. Applying it to two independent condensates shows that a relative phase builds up via the measurement at the expense of a decrease of the interference pattern visibility. A general pattern depending on the wave functions of the condensates is provided which can be applied to other nonlocal quantum system.
