Electromagnetic Form Factors of Hyperons in the Timelike Region: A Short Review

Abstract We review recent experimental and theoretical results for the electromagnetic form factors of hyperons (Y) in the timelike region, accessible in the reactions $e^{+}{e}^{-}\to \overline{Y}Y$. Specifically, we focus on the final states $\overline{\mathrm{\Lambda }}\mathrm{\Lambda }$, $\overline{\mathrm{\Lambda }}{\mathrm{\Sigma }}^0/{\overline{\mathrm{\Sigma }}}^0\mathrm{\Lambda }$, $\overline{\mathrm{\Sigma }}\mathrm{\Sigma }$, $\overline{\mathrm{\Xi }}\mathrm{\Xi }$, and $\overline{\mathrm{\Omega }}\mathrm{\Omega }$. The ${\overline{\mathrm{\Lambda }}}_{\mathrm{c}}{\mathrm{\Lambda }}_{\mathrm{c}}$ system is also discussed.
