THE NON-LINEAR OPTICAL EXCITATION AND DETECTION OF THE PLASMON IN TWO-DIMENSIONAL ELECTRON GAS
GU Shi-jie
Chin. Phys. Lett. 1985, 2 (4): 145-148 .
Abstract   PDF(pc) (44KB) ( 671 )
In this letter, theoretical calculations are given, which indicate that one can use the non-Linear difference-frequency mixing of two infrared beams to excite and detect the plasmon in the inversion layer without grating structure. The numerical estimation shows that signal shall be large enough to make detection possible.
THERMAL DESORPTION STUDY OF DEUTERIUM ON Si (100) SURFACE
HU Ji-huang, CHEN Ke-ming, HU Xin-gen, ZHUANG Cheng-qun and WANG Xun
Chin. Phys. Lett. 1985, 2 (4): 149-152 .
Abstract   PDF(pc) (53KB) ( 413 )
The thermal desorption spectra study of deuterium on Si(100) surface shows that two adsorption states the monodeuteride phase and the dideuteride phase can be formed. The activation energies of desorption for these two phases have been measured and a comparison with the hydrogen adsorption on Si(100) surface has been made.
THE KINETIC ENERGY FORMULA OF A MOVING CRACK IN ELASTO-PLASTIC MEDIUM
FAN Tian-you
Chin. Phys. Lett. 1985, 2 (4): 153-156 .
Abstract   PDF(pc) (41KB) ( 445 )
A kinetic energy formula has been obtained for a moving crack in elasto-plastic medium. It will reduce to the famous Mott's formula when the medium is changed into a linear elastic one.
THE INFLUENCE OF O2 ON THE ELECTRONIC STRUCTURE OF CLEAN AND ION SPUTTERED SURFACES OF 2H-MoS2(0001)
HU Yong-jun, LIN Zhang-da, WANG Chang-heng, XIE Kan
Chin. Phys. Lett. 1985, 2 (4): 157-160 .
Abstract   PDF(pc) (58KB) ( 664 )
UPS, XPS, AES and LEED have been applied to the study on the scmrples prepared by low energy N+(0.5KeV) sputtering of the clean cleavaged surface of 2H-MoS2 (0001). A new "shoulder" of a band tail above the top of the dz2 band shows that the surface is chemically active to O2 at room temperature, The causes for the chemical activeness have been analyzed.
VACUUM POLARIZATION IN REISSNER NORDSTRQM SPACETIME
YU Nia-chang
Chin. Phys. Lett. 1985, 2 (4): 161-164 .
Abstract   PDF(pc) (41KB) ( 388 )
In this letter, the vacuum energy momentum tensor of a massive scalar field in Reissner Nordstrom spacetime is calculated.
A MODEL FOR SIMULATION OF THE COMPOSITION-DEPTH PROFILE OBTAINED BY ION SPUTTERING
QU Zhe, XIE Tian-sheng
Chin. Phys. Lett. 1985, 2 (4): 165-168 .
Abstract   PDF(pc) (44KB) ( 485 )
A model for describing the profiling process has been proposed based on the commonly used assumptions. The concentration and the depth of the sputtered element can be calculatted simultaneously by using the derived equations. The model is suitable not only for binary systems but also for multicomponent systems. It can be applied to the system where the inherent component distribution is constant or varies as a function of depth.
MAGNETIC PROPERTIES OF MELT-SPUN (Nd-Fe)-B ALLOYS
ZHAO Jian-gao, SHEN Bao-gen, ZHAN Wen-shan
Chin. Phys. Lett. 1985, 2 (4): 169-172 .
Abstract   PDF(pc) (49KB) ( 594 )
The magnetic properties of melt-spun (Fe1-xNdx)94B6 alloys (x=0.07-0.90) are reported. Their spontaneous magnetizations are interpreted on the basis of a sperimagnetic structure with Nd and Fe cones. The highest coercivity at room temperature is 8 kOe for this as-quenched amorphous alloy system.
COMBINED EFFECT OF VARIOUS FACTORS ON THE GAIN SATURATION IN GAS FLOW LASERS
GAO Zhi, LI Ying-huong*
Chin. Phys. Lett. 1985, 2 (4): 173-176 .
Abstract   PDF(pc) (49KB) ( 466 )
A theory is presented for the combined effect of convection, cross relaxation and band-width of incident beam on the saturation processes of a gas flow laser with an inhomogeneously broadened line. Some new saturation relationships are deduced.

A MODEL FOR LOCAL MAGNETIC MOMENT AND THE VALENCE OF f ELECTRONS IN METALS
CHEN Chang-feng, ZHANG Li-yaun
Chin. Phys. Lett. 1985, 2 (4): 177-180 .
Abstract   PDF(pc) (46KB) ( 603 )
In this paper we suggest a model in which f electrons are bound in a narrow band near Fermi level, s-p-d electrons free and hybridization between them is considered. Numerical results show that the local magnetic moment of the f electron possesses certain stability under varying pressures. A phase diagram is plotted. The case of intermediate valence is discussed qualitatively.

THE DISTRIBUTION OF THE ORDER PARAMETER IN JOSEPHSON TUNNELLING JUNCTION
ZHANG Yu-heng, LIU Hong-bao, CHEN Geng-hua*
Chin. Phys. Lett. 1985, 2 (4): 181-184 .
Abstract   PDF(pc) (39KB) ( 709 )
The distribution of the order parameter in a Josephson junction has been investigated theoretically. There are upper and lower critical thicknesses dc and dm in a Josephson junction. The tunnelling junction is a normal superconductor when d < dm , and a Josephson junction when dm < d < dc , and a single electron tunnelling junction when d > dc.

A HAMILTONIAN SYSTEM WITH ANTI-ROTATING INTERACTION
HU Gang
Chin. Phys. Lett. 1985, 2 (4): 185-188 .
Abstract   PDF(pc) (46KB) ( 561 )
The initial value problem of a quantum oscillator coupled to a field is studied. The propagator has been obtained explicitly without the wave rotating approximation. The effects caused by the term, non-conserving of the number of particles, are analysed using a simple model.
NONEQUILIBRIUM PROCESSES OF ANGULAR MOMENTUM DISSIPATION IN DEEPLY INELASTIC HEAVY-ION COLLISIONS
LI Jun-qing, ZHU Jie-ding*
Chin. Phys. Lett. 1985, 2 (4): 189-192 .
Abstract   PDF(pc) (58KB) ( 539 )
The nonequilibrium processes of the angular momentum dissipation of fragments in deeply inelastic heavy-ion collisions have been investigated through consideration of the nondiagonal elements of the diffusion tensor. The diffusion tensor has been calculated microscopically.
