ZHANG Fang-qing, XU Xi-xiang, HE De-yan, CHEN Guang-hua
Chin. Phys. Lett. 1985, 2 (6): 241-244 .
Abstract   PDF(pc) (45KB) ( 750 )
EELS Technique is used to analyze the amorphous silicon-carbon-hydrogen alloy film deposited by RF sputtering method (RS a-SixC1-x: H). It is further verified that a structural change occurs at 1-x ≥ 0.40 in the alloy film.
INVESTIGATION OF THE THERMAL DONORS IN SILICON
ZHOU Jie, GAO Xiao-ping, XU Zhen-jia(C. C. Hsu)
Chin. Phys. Lett. 1985, 2 (6): 245-248 .
Abstract   PDF(pc) (53KB) ( 546 )
We have made, for the first time, a trial study of the electric behaviours of the 450°C annealed CZ-Si having several different dopings. Four energy levels were observed (E1 = Ec-(280-350)meV; E2 = Ec-(110-120)meV; E3 = Ec-(52-60)meV; E4 = Ec-30meV) in p-Si samples, which were capable of undergoing type change after annealing. In the heat-treated n-Si samples, only E2 and E4 were observed. Although these levels correspond to different structure models, they are all related, in one way or another, to the oxygen atoms in Si.

THEORETICAL STUDIES OF C1 ON Ag(100) SURFACE BY SW-Xα-SCF METHOD
TIAN Zeng-ju, ZHANG Kai-ming, XIE Xi-de
Chin. Phys. Lett. 1985, 2 (6): 249-252 .
Abstract   PDF(pc) (50KB) ( 483 )
For solving the long existing controversy about the chemisorption geometry of Cl/Ag (100), we show, by a SW- Xα-SCF cluster calculation, that the SOM(simple overlayer model) is more plausible. This conclusion agrees quite well with the more recent high resolution results obtained by angle-resolved photoemission.
MAGNETIC STRUCTURE OF DyFe3
JIN Long-huan, W. J . James*, J . Rhyne**, R. Lemaire***
Chin. Phys. Lett. 1985, 2 (6): 253-256 .
Abstract   PDF(pc) (40KB) ( 625 )
Powder neutron diffraction measurements have been carried out on the intermetallic compound DyFe3 at 4 and 295K. The magnetic structure of the compound at 4 and 295K are noncollinear but coplanar in the a-c plane, and the moments of the Dy and Fe ions lie closer to the basal plane.

THE INSTENSITY RATIOS I(L)/I(K) FROM Ge TO Sn MEASURED IN TEM USING EDS
WU Zi-qin, DUAN Jian-zhong
Chin. Phys. Lett. 1985, 2 (6): 257-260 .
Abstract   PDF(pc) (44KB) ( 511 )
The intensity ratios I(L)/I(K) from Ge to Sn have been measured in a Transmission electron microscope (TEM) using X-ray energy dispersive spectroscopy (EDS) at 40, 80, 100, 120, 160, 200kV. The large discrepancy between experimental and calculated values indicates that the formula of ionization cross-section should be revised.

A FERMI LIQUID THEORY OF MIXED-VALENCE SYSTEMS
LIN Zong-han(Tsung-han Lin), LIU Fu-sui
Chin. Phys. Lett. 1985, 2 (6): 261-264 .
Abstract   PDF(pc) (38KB) ( 468 )
The local non-interacting Fermi liquid theory of News and Hewson is extended to include the interaction by introducing a molecular field parameter. The zero-temperature susceptibility and linear coefficient of specific heat are calculated.
LEVEL STRUCTURE OF 140Ce FROM THE DECAY OF 140La
LIU Yun-zuo, WU Yao-dong, WANG Fang-ji, ZHOU Jie-wen,
Chin. Phys. Lett. 1985, 2 (6): 265-268 .
Abstract   PDF(pc) (63KB) ( 383 )
Gamma - gamma coincidence evidences are presented in this paper to confirm the existence of levels 3394.5keV and 3473.7keV in 140Ce. The level 3520.8keV in 140Ce should be discarded because of the identification of the peak at 1924keV as a pure sum-peak of two strong gamma rays at 328kev and 1596keV.
THE APPLICATION OF FE1-FE2 PHASE TRANSITION IN Nb DOPED (95/5) FERROELECTRIC CERAMICS TO HEAT-ELECTRIC ENERGY CONVERSION
LIAN Jing-yu, WANG Yong-ling
Chin. Phys. Lett. 1985, 2 (6): 269-272 .
Abstract   PDF(pc) (55KB) ( 594 )
Formerly, direct conversion of heat to electricity was carried out by making use of ferroelectric to paraelectric (FE-P) transition. In this paper a new method utilizing pyroelectric effect between two ferroelectric phases (FEI-FE2) is suggested and the Nb doped PZT (95/5) ceramic materials are used as actuating media. The intrinsic efficiency as well as the output electric power in energy conversion is estimated in terms of the charge-voltage behaviour during phase transition. Two methods of the energy conversion concerned are compared.
THE PHASE TRANSITION-LIKE BEHAVIOUR OF THE BULK POLARON
WANG Wang, PAN Jin-sheng
Chin. Phys. Lett. 1985, 2 (6): 273-276 .
Abstract   PDF(pc) (48KB) ( 402 )
The phase transition-like behaviour of bulk polaron is investigated. We find that there exists a certain critical temperature Tc and the phase transition behaviour below Tc is different from that above Tc.
THE BEHAVIOUR OF Si IN AlxGa1-xAs GROWN BY MBE
ZHOU Jun-ming, HUANG-Yi, YANG Zhong-xing, CHENG Wen-qin
Chin. Phys. Lett. 1985, 2 (6): 277-280 .
Abstract   PDF(pc) (55KB) ( 431 )
With the use of RHEED, a new surface reconstruction AlxGa1-xAs (001)-(3 x 2) induced by Si dopant, and a Si dopant effect for suppressing island growth and promoting layer by layer growth are observed.

NEARLY PERFECT SEED CRYSTALS SUITABLE FOR IN SITU OBSERVATIONS ON CRYSTAL GROWTH FROM MELT
JIN Wei-qing, Hiroshi KOMATSU*
Chin. Phys. Lett. 1985, 2 (6): 281-284 .
Abstract   PDF(pc) (63KB) ( 567 )
To check consciously the crystallization processes, one must control precisely the experimental conditions, one of which is the perfection of the seed crystals. The experimental procedures for growing nearly perfect salol seed crystals are described. A seed crystal of rhombic form with less than 10μm in thickness has a threshold supercooling for crystal growth and is very suitable for in situ observations on growth from melt.

Abstract   PDF(pc) (47KB) ( 510 )
