AN IMPROVED DEFECT MODEL FOR SCHOTTKY BARRIER FORMATION ON III-V COMPOUNDS
PAN shihong MO Dang W.E.Spicer
Chin. Phys. Lett. 1986, 3 (1): 1-4 .
Abstract   PDF(pc) (48KB) ( 511 )
An improved defect model has been proposed by combination of the defect model with the Bardeen model. The predictions based on this model can qualitatively explain the experimental results of the Schottky barrier formation on GaAs(110).

THE INTERACTION OF RADIATION DEFECTS AND Pd-RELATED CENTERS IN SILICON
ZHOU Jie, RUAN Shengyang, HA0 Hong, GE Wei kun, JI Xiujiang, LI Shuying
Chin. Phys. Lett. 1986, 3 (1): 5-8 .
Abstract   PDF(pc) (53KB) ( 872 )
The defects, whose structures are well known (for example, the complex ofoxygen and vacancy-A center), were introduced in the p+n junction samples with diffused Pd by irradiation of electrons, and their interaction was promoted by annealing. The existance of the energy level related to Pd in Si can lower the annealing temperature of A centers, but does not affect its generating rate. The level ETC related to Pd is the complex of the interstitial Pd and vacancy.

DETERMINATION OF THE ABSOLUTE FLUORESCENCE QUANTUM YIELDS OF LASER DYES USING PHOTOACOUSTIC SPECTROSCOPY
ZHANG Guang yin, LI Zengfa, YAN Jingsheng
Chin. Phys. Lett. 1986, 3 (1): 9-12 .
Abstract   PDF(pc) (46KB) ( 495 )
A new technique of photoacoustic spectroscopy measurements of the absolute fluorescence quantum yields has been investigated and used in laser dye solutions. The fluorescence quenchers is used in the experiment. Five home-made dyes, Rhodamine 6G, Disodium Fluorescein, Eosin Y, Cuomarin I and Quinine Bisulphate, have been measured. The results are in excellent agreement with those reported.
ON THE STOCHASTIC NATURE OF NONDIFFRACTIVE PROCESSES
LIU Liansou, QIN Lihong, ZHUANG Pengfei
Chin. Phys. Lett. 1986, 3 (1): 13-16 .
Abstract   PDF(pc) (45KB) ( 468 )
It is argued that the nondiffractive hadronic processes are stochastic in nature both in the transverse and in the longitudinal directions. The calculated results agree well with the experimental data up to the pp collider (SPS) energy.

LASER INDUCED IONIZATION IN MAGNESIUM VAPOR
ZHANG Jing yuan, LI Qiongru, Yang Jian, ZHAO Lizeng, NIE Yuxin
Chin. Phys. Lett. 1986, 3 (1): 17-20 .
Abstract   PDF(pc) (49KB) ( 530 )
The ionization of magnesium vapor by resonant and off-resonant laser irradiation was investigated for the first time. Enhancement of ion signals was observed at the 3s2-3s4d 1D and 3s2-3s5s 1s two-photon atomic resonances. A "hybrid resonance" was detected which involves the production of 3s3p 1P atoms from molecular magnesium. Doubly charged ions by laser radiation tuned to one and two-photon resonance levels of MgII were produced

THE PHASE DISCRIMINATION OF Pr-Fe-B TERNARY SYSTEM BY THEIR MAGNETIC CHARACTERISTICS
HUANG Yiying, TIAN Jinghua, FAN Shiyong
Chin. Phys. Lett. 1986, 3 (1): 21-24 .
Abstract   PDF(pc) (51KB) ( 482 )
The induced magnetic ordering effect of polycrystalline dhcp Pr at low temperature was applied to discriminate the minute Pr phase in Pr-Fe-B alloys with high sensitivity. The conclusion that the composition range of HM phase of Pr-Fe-B is very narrow has been deduced from experiments.
INVESTIGATION ON QUASICRYSTAL IN A1-Mn ALLOY BY HIGH RESOLUTION ELECTRON MICROSCOPY
LIU Wei, LI Fanghua, LIU Zhiyi
Chin. Phys. Lett. 1986, 3 (1): 25-28 .
Abstract   PDF(pc) (115KB) ( 577 )
The structure of icosahedral quasicrystal in rapidly quenched Al-Mn alloy has been studied by electron diffraction and high resolution electron microscopy. A structure model is proposed and neighboring interatomic distances are given.
A SPECIAL CAUSAL RELATION IN TAUB’S AND KAR’S PLANE-SYMMETRIC SPACETIMES
KUANG Zhiquan, LIANG Canbin
Chin. Phys. Lett. 1986, 3 (1): 29-32 .
Abstract   PDF(pc) (42KB) ( 459 )
It is proved that in Taub's and Kar's plane-symmetric spacetime, a future directed null geodesic emanating from a point “p”will enter the chronological future of “p”. Physically, this implies that the light signal from a movie projector with its back to the screen will finally come back to the screen and form a movie which looks exactly the same as the true one.

Ko-IMAGE OF THE BRAZIL TWIN BOUNDARY IN NATURAL QUARTZ CRYSTAL BY X-RAY SECTION TOPOGRAPHY
YANG Ping, JIANG Shusheng, ZHOU Hengnan, FENG Duan
Chin. Phys. Lett. 1986, 3 (1): 33-36 .
Abstract   PDF(pc) (72KB) ( 455 )
Ko-image of the Brazil twin boundary in quartz crystal by X-ray section topography and the same contrasts of the f irst fringes for entrance and exit surface are shown in this paper.
EMC EFFECT AND THE NUCLEON SIZE I N THE NUCLEAR ENVIRONMENT
YANG Xinhua, LI Heshen
Chin. Phys. Lett. 1986, 3 (1): 37-40 .
Abstract   PDF(pc) (39KB) ( 504 )
The effect of the change of the pion field in nuclei on the confinement radius of the nucleon is calculated. The nucleon size increase in a nucleus is about 3%. Combining with the change of the vacuum properties, the reasonable fit for EMC effect has been obtained.
WHAT CAN WE LEARN FROM A(π+,η)B CHARGE EXCHANGE REACTION?
LI Yangguo, JIANG Huan qing
Chin. Phys. Lett. 1986, 3 (1): 41-44 .
Abstract   PDF(pc) (40KB) ( 396 )
Within DWIA formalism, we calculate the η production cross sections from nuclear target by charge exchange reaction A(π+,η)B . For 13C target the cross sections at forward angles are of the order of 10 ηb/sr at Tπ =660MeV, which can be measured experimentally. The high momentum component of the wave function of single particle bound state is essential for describing this reaction.
SQUEEZING EFFECT FROM PHOTON SCATTERING
LUO Liaofu, CAI Lu, D.L.Lin
Chin. Phys. Lett. 1986, 3 (1): 45-47 .
Abstract   PDF(pc) (25KB) ( 469 )
It is proved that the photon-scattering term in Hamiltonian of Dicke problem would cause the additional squeezing effect .
