ON THE EXCHANGE POTENTIAL OF ELASTIC TRANSFER SCATTERING
HE Guozhu, GAO Chengqun, CHEN Xiyu*
Chin. Phys. Lett. 1986, 3 (5): 193-196 .
Abstract   PDF(pc) (50KB) ( 476 )
In the LCNO theory, a simple analytic approximate expression has been derived for the exchange potential which has definite value at R = 0 and can be applied to the whole region.
AN EXPLANATION OF THE FORMATION OF METASTABLE Ag-Cr ALLOY BY ION MIXING
HUANG Liji, MA En, LIU Baixin
Chin. Phys. Lett. 1986, 3 (5): 197-200 .
Abstract   PDF(pc) (43KB) ( 477 )
Metastable Ag80Cr20 alloy was produced by ion mixng of Ag-Cr multilayers at liquid nitrogen temperature. The immiscibility in Ag-Cr system was accounted for in terms of the characteristics of the electronic structures of the constituent metals, and the ion beam induced alloy formation was explained by considering ion mixing as a process favoring the co-resonance process required for forming the new energy band of the metastable Ag-Cr alloy.

NONLINEAR FIELD EQUATIONS AND THE PAINLEVE TEST
A. Grauel
Chin. Phys. Lett. 1986, 3 (5): 201-204 .
Abstract   PDF(pc) (44KB) ( 425 )
The painlevé property for partial differential equations introduced by Weiss, Tabor and Carnevale is investigated for various nonlinear field equations. It is conjectured that the Paintevé property can serve to decide whether a field equation is integrable or not.

A STUDY ON THE MICROSTRUCTURE AND FRACTURE PROCESS OF A PEARLITIC STEEL BY MEANS OF EDC TECHNIQUE
HUANG Xiaoying, GUQ Wei, PAN Tianxi, ZHAO Jian, YAO Heng, ZHANG Wenlei
Chin. Phys. Lett. 1986, 3 (5): 205-208 .
Abstract   PDF(pc) (88KB) ( 382 )
An investigation of the microstructure and the mioroprocess of fracture of an eutectoid pearlitic steel has been carried out by means of electron-diffraction-contrast(EDC) and other analytical techniques. The nature of the dislocations in pro-eutectoid-ferrite and ferrite in pearlite was determined. The character of interface conjunction between ferrite and cementite was discussed. The fracture process of pearlitic steel has been analysed crystallographically.
A THEORETICAL CALCULATION OF THE LOW-LYING BRANCHES OF PHONON DISPERSION RELATIONS FOR α-LiIO3
MEI Changjiang, HAO Bailin, CHEN sow-Hsin*
Chin. Phys. Lett. 1986, 3 (5): 209-212 .
Abstract   PDF(pc) (44KB) ( 442 )
A preliminary calculation for the low-lying branches of phonon dispersion relations of α-LiIO3 in directions [001], [100] and [110] using a simplified model are reported. In addition, we point out that coupling between different vibration modes may be important in lattice dynamics of such crystals.

THE WAVEFORM AND APPROXIMATE FORMULA OF NONPROPAGATING HYDRODYNAMIC SOLITONS IN TROUGH
WANG Benren, WEI Rongjue, MAO Yi, ZHENG Xiaoyu
Chin. Phys. Lett. 1986, 3 (5): 213-216 .
Abstract   PDF(pc) (50KB) ( 366 )
The surface loci and motion of solitons along lateral direction and the effects of dimension size or with partition on the waveform have been measured and observed carefully., An approximate solution of surface displacement also has been given, which agrees well with the experimental values.
ON THE MAGNETORESISTANCE OF METALLIC SUPERLATTICES
YANG Ruiqing, Tsai Chienhua*
Chin. Phys. Lett. 1986, 3 (5): 217-220 .
Abstract   PDF(pc) (32KB) ( 501 )
Following our successful calculations on the electrical conductivity, the thermopower, and the Hall coefficient of metallic superlattices, we report in the present article further theoretical magnetoresistance versusmodulation wavelength curves in conformity with measurement. Experimental tests of certain predictions observed near the end of the paper are desirous.
A METHOD FOR SOLVING THE EQUATION OF A FERROMAGNETIC CHAIN AND VERIFICATION OF THE TAKHTAJAN EQUATION
HUANG Nianning
Chin. Phys. Lett. 1986, 3 (5): 221-224 .
Abstract   PDF(pc) (40KB) ( 472 )
Based on the gauge equivalence, we solve the equation of a Heisenberg ferromagnetic chain by using the inverse scattering method of the nonlinear Schrodinger equation and an explicitly obtained form of the required gauge transformation. We show that the solutions of a ferromagnetic chain by the Takhtajan's method identify with that by the above mentioned method. Then we prove the correctness of the Takhtajan equation and avoid the defects in its derivations.

HIGH DENSITY EXPERIMENT OF CT-6B TOKAMAK
WANG Long, HAN Gonghe, ZHENG Shaobai, LI Zhimin, LIU Chuncheng
Chin. Phys. Lett. 1986, 3 (5): 225-228 .
Abstract   PDF(pc) (49KB) ( 397 )
A high density experiment has been performed by gas puffing on CT-6B tokamak. The changes in the plasma parameters caused by the gas puffing are described. The ionization efficiency measured in the experiment is about 0.5. The dependence of density limit on the injected gas flux is given. The maximum line-averaged electron density achieved is 4x1013cm-3.
ELLIPSOMETRIC SPECTRA AND DAMAGE PROFILES OF ION IMPLANTED SILICON
MO Dang, HE Xingfei
Chin. Phys. Lett. 1986, 3 (5): 229-232 .
Abstract   PDF(pc) (47KB) ( 394 )
By means of optimization with a multilayer model, the damage profile can be obtained from the measured data by spectroscopic ellipsometry without stripping. The damage profiles of 40keV As+ implanted Si at doses of 4 x 1013 and 1. 4 x 1014 ions cm-2 are shown and compared with those determined by Rutherford backscattering.
RECENT RESULTS OF HYPERCHARGE EXCHANGE REACTIONS AND SIMPLE REGGE POLE MODEL
Fazal-e -Aleem
Chin. Phys. Lett. 1986, 3 (5): 233-236 .
Abstract   PDF(pc) (50KB) ( 356 )
Most recent data for the differential cross section and polarisation for the hypercharge exchange reaction π+p → K+Σ+ and its line-reversed partners is explained by using the simple Regge pole model with phenomenological residue functions.
POSITRON TRAPPING MODEL AT DISLOCATION WITH OUT ESCAPING
XIONG Liangyue (L.Y. XIONG)
Chin. Phys. Lett. 1986, 3 (5): 237-240 .
Abstract   PDF(pc) (47KB) ( 509 )
A multi-state trapping model involving positron trapping at dislocations is proposed, in which the effect of positron detrapping can be omitted, and using the data in some literature, we have estimated the jog interval on the dislocation line. The results obtained are of a reasonable order of magnitude.
