WAVE FUNCTION OF THE UMVERSE FOR THE SPINOR FIELD IN THE INDUCED THEORY OF GRAVITY
SHEN Yougen*, TAN Zhenqiang
Chin. Phys. Lett. 1989, 6 (7): 289-292 .
Abstract   PDF(pc) (50KB) ( 497 )
The wave function of the universe for the spinor field in the induced theory of gravity is solved by ruing Hartle and Hawking method. The wave function obeys the Wheeler-De Witt equation. The results indicate that the spinor field affects strongly the wave function related to the initial condition when like-scalar factor α is very small, and the behavior of the spinor field resembles scalar field when like-scalar factor α is great.
A NEW EMPIRICAL REGULARITY IN RAPIDITY DISTBIBUTIONS OF HIGH ENERGY MULTIPARTICLE PRODUCTIONS
HE Yudong, WANG Guangjun, ZHU Qingqi
Chin. Phys. Lett. 1989, 6 (7): 293-296 .
Abstract   PDF(pc) (60KB) ( 602 )
The rapidity distribution of multiparticle production at the ISR and SppS collider energies are studied, and the data reveal a new empirical scaling behaviour in rapidity distributions in terms of the reduced variable. Some relevant problems on the inclusive distribution of multiparticle productions are discussed.
BONDING STATES IN Cu-O AND T1-O LAYERS OF T12 Ba2 Ca2 Cu3 O10
WANG Huaiyu, LIU Fusui, WANG Enge
Chin. Phys. Lett. 1989, 6 (7): 297-300 .
Abstract   PDF(pc) (57KB) ( 618 )
The electronic density of states of the known highest Tc material T12 Ba2 Ca2 Cu3 O10 has been calculated with tight-binding approximation. The bonding states in Cu-O and Tl-O layers are analysed. Because it has the electronic structures similar to that of La-oxides and Y-oxides, it is believed that they have the same leading superconducting mechanism.

PAN Guangyan, LEI Ziming, YANG Feng, LIU Jiarui, YU Dehong, SUN Xiang
Chin. Phys. Lett. 1989, 6 (7): 301-304 .
Abstract   PDF(pc) (60KB) ( 1165 )
Balmer α ,β, γ emissions have been measured in collisions between H+1, H+2, H+3, and He, Ne, Ar in energy range of 50-150keV, using TN-1710 optical multichannel analysis system (OMA). The emission cross sections of Hα, Hβ, Hγlines are given. The experimental results demonstrate that the emission cross sections of Hα ,β, γ lines in H+3 +He, Ne, Ar collision systems are larger than those in H+1, H+2 +He , Ne, Ar, respectively.
ABNORMAL REFRACTION OF FINITE AMPLITUDE SOUND WAVE
QIAN Zuwen, ZHENG Xiaoyu
Chin. Phys. Lett. 1989, 6 (7): 305-308 .
Abstract   PDF(pc) (45KB) ( 612 )
Based on Qian's theory, we investigated the reflection and refraction of finite amplitute sound wave on a plane boundary. Under the continuity conditions of the pressure and the normal velocity, some interesting results are obtained. There exists two kinds of refraction waves. One obeys Snell's law; the other quantitatively agrees to the steeply dipping wave observed by Muir et al. A further analysis shows that a double refraction may occur in an extent of the incident angle whenρ12 > √C202/C201-1.

EXCITATION OF HIGH-N TOROIDAL SHEAR ALFVEN MODE DUE TO ALPHA-PARTICLE RIPPLE LOSSES IN TOKAMAKS
GUO Shichong, CHEN Liu, CAI Shidong(S.T.Tsai), GUO Zheng
Chin. Phys. Lett. 1989, 6 (7): 309-312 .
Abstract   PDF(pc) (49KB) ( 788 )
The alpha-particle effects on high-n toroidal shear Alfven mode are investigated analytically. The mode can be driven to unstable when the alpha-particles have a n anisotropic distribution function due to ripple losses in tokamaks. The growth rates of the instability in both “fast” and “slow ” plasma heating cases are calculated, and the conditions for the excitation of the modes are also studied.
LATERAL PHOTOEFFECT OF ULTRATHIN METAL FILMS AND INDIUM TIN OXIDE FILMS DEPOSITED ON n-Si SUBSTRATE
CHEN Tupei, HUANG Bingzhong, ZHUO Jian, LI Weidong, ZHANG Xiangming
Chin. Phys. Lett. 1989, 6 (7): 313-316 .
Abstract   PDF(pc) (55KB) ( 483 )
Ultrathin metal films and indium tin oxide (ITO) films were prepared by vacuum evaporation on n-type Si substrate. These structures exhibit interesting photoelectronic properties, and lateral photovoltage was observed. The photovoltaic output can be a linear function of the position of light spot (localized illumination) with zero output for the light spot in the center; it reverses sign when the light spot scans from one side to the other side of the center position. The mechanism for this photovoltaic behavior is discussed.
ENTROPY AND REDUNDANCY SCALING IN MULTMADRON PRODUCTION
ZHOU Zhuowei, CAI Xu*
Chin. Phys. Lett. 1989, 6 (7): 317-320 .
Abstract   PDF(pc) (50KB) ( 647 )
It was recently proposed by Simak, Sumbera and Zborovsky that the experimental multiplicity distributions at different energies may obey a new type of scaling law when using entropy per unit of rapidity. In this paper we discuss the questions of this proposal concerning the definition of entropy and introduce a characteristic quantity, redundancy, to replace it.
DEFORMATION AND FRACTURE OF Y-Ba-Cu-O SUPERCONDUCTOR
NI Qunhui, LI Anping, LI Yong, KONG Qingping
Chin. Phys. Lett. 1989, 6 (7): 321-324 .
Abstract   PDF(pc) (54KB) ( 533 )
Mechanical tests of bulk Y-Ba-Cu-O superconductor have been carried out. The density and the grain size have a significant influence on the strength. The ratio of tensile strength to compressive strength and the strain at fracture are very small. These indicate that the Y-Ba-Cu-O superconductor has the typical character of brittle ceramics.
THEORETICAL EXPLANATION OF SPIN REORIENTATION IN DyTiFe11 COMPOUND
PEI Xiedi*, YANG Yingchang, ZHA Yuanbo, SUN Hong, KONG Linshu
Chin. Phys. Lett. 1989, 6 (7): 325-328 .
Abstract   PDF(pc) (53KB) ( 333 )
At room temperature, the c-axis is the easy magnetization direction in DyTi Fe11 compound. However, when we decrease temperature, the thermal magnetic curves show that a spin reorientation takes place at about 175K. The anisotropy constants of Fe sublattice have been determined by measuring the magnetocrystalline anisotropy of YTi Fe11. We have calculated the anisotropy constants of Dy by using single ion theory. The results demonstrate that the spin reorientation arises from the competition of magnetocrystalline anisotropy between Dy and Fe sublattices. The spin reorientation is explaned by the theoretical calculation.
EXISTENCE OF TWO KINDS OF DUMBBELL DOMAINS IN BUBBLE MATERIALS
HAN Baoshan*, NIE Xiangfu, LIU Dapeng
Chin. Phys. Lett. 1989, 6 (7): 329-332 .
Abstract   PDF(pc) (68KB) ( 1161 )
The “exercise”experiment shows that the dumbbell domains, which can eventually contract to circular form and then collapse, should be classified as a kind of dumbbells rather than hard bubbles. Thus dumbbell domains can be divided into two kinds: ID and IID. Their static characteristics are reported, and typical photos are presented.
