Abstract In situ Raman spectroscopy is employed to study the effects of temperature on D2O water structure up to 573K at 10MPa. With increasing temperature, the O--D stretching band moves to the higher wavenumber, implying that higher temperature can result in the break of hydrogen bonding. According to the discussion on the liquid water structure and from the van ’t Hoff equation, the hydrogen bond energy of D2O is calculated to be 2.50±0.3kcal/mol.
