Abstract On the basis of nonlinear field equations obtained by us, we prove that the fields in the static limit are unstable in the sense of Lyapunov's problem and may collapse, leading to the formation of a pancake-like structure in self-gravitating systems. Our numerical integration shows clearly the same tendency in a much more general condition.
