Abstract We study the properties of pulsed component of hard (2--10keV) x-ray emission from pulsars based on the new version of outer gap model we proposed previously [Astrophys. J. 604(2004)317]. On the frame of this outer gap model, we derive an expression of non-thermal pulsed x-ray luminosity of rotation-powered pulsars, and then apply it to the pulsars whose pulsed x-rays are detected by ASCA. Using the Kolmogorov--Smirnov test, we determine the model parameter. The present results indicate LX ∝ L1.15sd for these x-ray pulsars, which is consistent with the observed data.
