Abstract The pressure tensor, energy density, and conservation equations of plasma in an intense laser field are derived by using a nonequilibrium distribution function. The results show that the effect of the intense laser field on the behavior of plasma cannot be neglected. As an application, the adiabatic equation of state, electronic density wave equation, and relevant dispersion relation are obtained for the electrostatic wave behavior. A substitution relation of the conserwtion equations from weak to intense field limits are presented.
