Abstract: The ferromagnetic metastable bcc 304 stainless steel film was studied by means of 57Fe high-pressure Mössbauer spectroscopy. No fcc phase was observed under the pressure up to 36 kbar. However, the magnetization direction of the sample was found to reorientate under the high-pressure, and showed the strongest tendency to the out-of-plane under the pressure 8 kbar, then was gradually close to the in-plane with increasing pressure.
