Abstract : The carbon K-edge near edge x-ray absorption fine structure (NEXAFS) spectra of formate adsorbed on the Cu(110) surface have been calculated by multiple scattering cluster method, the result shows that the H-C resonance exists in the carbon K-edge NEXAFS spectra, this is the major difference between the carbon and oxygen K-edge NEXAFS spectra of HCOO-Cu(110) system.
