Abstract We study the dynamics of the Einstein-Maxwell-dust system and find that the system presents a critical point of a center-center-type structure in the phase space. By performing the numerical experiments, we find that the dynamics of the Einstein-Maxwell-dust system is unstable and its chaotic behaviour is obvious when the Hamiltonian becomes smaller.
