Abstract Static properties of Λ-hypernuclei are calculated self-consistently in the relativistic mean-field model. The effect of Λ on the core nucleons are investigated. It is found that the rms radii of neutron become smaller than those of ordinary nuclei, when a closed-shell nuclear core is embeded in a 1s_1/2 Λ hyperon is added.
