Abstract Differential cross-sections of elastic and 41S -41P excitation for electron scattering by calcium at intermediate energies have been calculated and compared with experiment. The method used is the momentum space coupled channels optical method with the complex equivalent-local polarization potentials, which takes all channels into account. Discrete channels are included in a coupled equation and the optical potential is added that describes effects of target continuum.
