Variational Calculation of Lattice SU( N) Gauge System

Abstract A general method for an analytical calculation of SU( N) lattice gauge theories with finite N ≥ 3 is developed. As an example, the order parameter < E > of lattice SU (4) gauge system is calculated. The result is in good agreement with Monte Carlo simulations.
