Modified Eikonal Approximation for K-Shell Capture in Asymmetric Ion-Atom Collisions

Abstract A modified eikonal approximation is developed by introducing an eikonal phase factor into the previous model-potential Oppenheimer-Brinkman-Kramers (MPOBK) approximation. The present calculation shows an obvious improvement on the MPOBK calculation for H+-Ne collisions at intermediate energies.
