Abstract The dynamics of a molecular cloud affected by strong perturbation is a nonlin-ear problem. We deal with a simplified case, and have analytically solved the nonlinear equations and obtained solutions in the form of travelling wave. Fur-ther we have discussed a case involving magnetic field. The solutions explain the behavior of a molecular cloud encountering a collision and the impact of the strong perturbation on forming a young star.
