Abstract An electric circuit is used to simulate a bistable system. The input signal is a word consisting of a sequence of pulses, which contains certain information, rather than a purely sinusoidal signal. It is found that the portion of information received from the output of the bistable system can be greatly enhanced under the stochastic resonance condition.
