Abstract Vibrational predissociation (VP) of molecular clusters in a strong laser field was studied using semiclassical theory and dressed molecular approach. Numerical calculation indicates that VP transition rates are greatly enhanced in the presence of a strong laser field. This effect is especially remarkable when the laser frequency meets the near resonant condition. The result is discussed in terms of Franck-Condon type overlap integral.
