Abstract The shape of directed lattice animals is studied by introducing a new exponent, vF, discribing the divergence of the front width of the animal clusters. In two dimensions, the results from exact enumerations and real-space renormalization group method suggest that vF = 0.43 ± 0.03.

Abstract
