July 2017 marks the 5th anniversary of the EXPRESS LETTERS section in Chinese Physics Letters (CPLE). To celebrate this, we start an entirely new Section of "Views & Comments" to provide opinions and comments on the papers published in CPL, in particular those in CPLE.
Over the past five years, most of the Express Letters and many other CPL papers have reported exciting results. We will select some of these to highlight so that our readers can appreciate their significance. Usually, the commentaries on the highlighted papers will be written by prominent experts in the related field. In this issue we invite our Editorial Board Member, Professor Xiao-Gang Wen from MIT, to write the first article of our "Views & Comments" on the CPLE paper entitled "Gapped Spin-1/2 Spinon Excitation in a New Kagome Quantum Spin Liquid ...... ". We hope our readers will enjoy it.
On the other hand, there inevitably exist controversial claims in some of our published papers. Any comments regarding the controversial claims are welcome. After peer review, the Comment may also be published in the Views & Comments section. Of course, further comments are also welcome so that all opinions may be presented without bias. We endeavor to nurture an environment for free discussion, which we believe is essential in our search for the truth.
