Abstract We present the results of hydroacoustic experiments carried out in 2010 in the Peter the Great Bay, the Sea of Japan, using low-frequency emitters (26 and 33 Hz). These studies are conducted in the waters where the information on geological conditions in the upper sediment layer have been obtained before and the geoacoustic sediment model has been built. An example of the influence of large inhomogeneities in bottom sediments on the acoustic signal propagation along the route is given.
