Electronic Excitation of H2 by Electron Impact Using Multichannel Static-Exchange-Optical Method

Abstract The momentum-space multichannel static-exchange-optical model is applied to the electron-H2 collision at the two-state close-coupling level. Differential cross sections for X1Σg to b3Σu transition at the energies of 20 and 30 eV are reported. Results are compared with other theoretical results and experimental data. Elastic scattering cross sections are also presented and compared with other work.
