Abstract We analyze the time of formation of central singularities in (N+2)-dimensional spacetimes. It is shown that the time of formation of central singularity decreases with the increase in dimensions of the spacetime. The dynamics of trapped surface formation in different higher-dimensional spacetimes are studied and compared graphically.
